About The Global Energy Company:

My client is global SaaS provider to TSO’s, Energy producers, suppliers and traders. Owning the market leading energy market modelling tool the SaaS company provides advanced software to leading names in the energy market to allow their Energy Analysts to make the most informed decisions possible. With 400+ head count world wide the Global Energy Company is looking to augment their market modelling team with a Senior Energy Analyst to continue to evolve their market modelling and keep it at the forefront of the energy markets and broader industry. 

About The Senior Energy Analyst (Modelling) Role:

You will be responsible for maintaining and developing datasets to help clients analyse and forecast European power and gas markets.  Supported by a technical team whose role it is to collect the data and develop base datasets, the role is to develop these base datasets into Market Analytic models, ensuring they meet varying customer requirements and accurately portray the latest market outcomes and future trends. 

The role includes reviewing energy markets & fundamentals, gathering data and curating them into energy models for analysis. The successful candidate would have, and be enthusiastic to develop, an understanding of energy market fundamental drivers (eg demand/supply balance) and be able to apply this knowledge to produce models of the current and future European power and/or gas markets. 

About The Ideal Senior Energy Analyst:
You will have an advanced understanding of modelling the energy markets, working closely with clients and delivering solutions that drive outcomes. This is a role where you can exercise of all of your knowledge of the global energy, power and gas markets to deliver a full knowledge solution.  

Essential Skills and Competencies of the Senior Energy Analyst:

• 3+ years experience within power or broader energy market modelling
• Knowledge of statistical models such as linear programming and Monte Carlo simulations
• Degree in numerate/engineering based subject (Stats, Maths, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering)
• Foundational knowledge of power generation, transmission and utilities industry
